Terms

The plain-English version of how the Tastemaker Network works between us and the people in it. If you read these and have questions, we’d rather you ask than guess.
About these terms
These terms govern your use of the tastemaker.sg website and your participation in the network it describes. Submitting an application doesn’t create a contract between us — membership is by invitation, in both directions. We use a separate, specific written agreement for each commercial engagement.
Eligibility and membership
The network is invite-only. We read every application ourselves and we say no a lot. We may decline an application for any reason, including reasons we don’t share. Being invited doesn’t guarantee any specific placement, frequency of placement, or duration of membership.
To apply or participate, you must be at least 18 years old and have the right to commit to what these terms describe.
Applications and inquiries
When you submit an application or inquiry, you confirm that the information you’ve given us is accurate. We may follow up, ask for more, or invite you to a call. We won’t share a tastemaker’s profile with a venue (or vice versa) without consent.
Tastemaker commitments
If you accept an invitation to a hosted experience, you agree to:
- show up at the time we’ve agreed,
- be honest about what you experienced,
- post one review and one social post on TikTok, Lemon8, or Instagram — on the platform agreed in advance, within roughly a week of the visit,
- flag the visit as hosted in the way the platform expects, as you would any partnership,
- and not script your content from a brief written for you. We don’t ask, and you shouldn’t accept it from anyone.
If something went wrong on the night, talk to us before you post and we’ll work it out with the venue.
Venue commitments
If you partner with us, you agree to:
- host invited tastemakers in good faith on the agreed terms,
- cover the agreed scope — typically food and a defined drinks element for the tastemaker and one guest,
- not interfere with the tastemaker’s editorial point of view, before or after the visit,
- and give us honest feedback so we can keep matching well.
Specific commercial terms (pricing, cadence, scope, deliverables, reporting) are agreed in a separate written engagement.
Curation rights
Membership is at our discretion. We may decline new venues or tastemakers, end existing arrangements with reasonable notice, or pause a placement at any time. We only work with venues and people we can stand behind — that bar applies on day one and on day three hundred.
Honest content, no scripts
We never script tastemaker content. Tastemakers post their own views in their own voice. A thoughtful, critical review is a legitimate deliverable; nothing in these terms requires positive coverage.
Disclosure of hosted experiences is the tastemaker’s responsibility and a condition of membership.
Content and ownership
You own the content you post. By participating, you grant the Tastemaker Network and the host venue a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reshare your content on our and their channels with credit. You can withdraw a piece of content from this licence at any time by writing to us; the venue may continue to display content posted before the withdrawal.
Liability
We don’t guarantee specific outcomes — reach, reservations, foot traffic, or ROI. Our role is to place credible voices into hosted experiences, verify the deliverables, and hand them over. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Tastemaker Network is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your participation or from a placement.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited under applicable law.
Termination
You can leave the network at any time. We can end your membership at any time, with reasonable notice unless we have a compelling reason not to. Provisions that should survive termination — the content licence, confidentiality obligations, and liability limits — do.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we change something material, we’ll update the “Last updated” date and, for members and active inquiries, send a note by email.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
